Five years ago, I was diagnosed with Stage IV melanoma. Cancer changed every part of my life. The treatments aside, the uncertainty, fear, and emotional toll I carried were often overwhelming. While doctors sought ways to save my life physically, I struggled to find ways to hold on mentally and emotionally. If at the time of my greatest struggles I could have escaped to any semblance of the peace I find at the pottery studio, I would have. If just for a few hours to not be a patient, to not focus on scans or appointments or fear. To just be. Today I'm grateful to be in remission and am here to speak on behalf of those facing the battle. My mission is simple: To provide cancer patients with an opportunity to step away from their diagnosis, reconnect with themselves, and experience comfort, purpose, healing, and hope -Libby OdhamÂ
